Preliminary Procedure

Note: Drain only the fluid from the radiator surge tank.

Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.

Push Pin Retainer

Tip
Using J 38185 , position the radiator surge tank hose clamp aside and remove the hose from the radiator surge tank.

Surge Tank Retaining Nut

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
6 N·m (53 lb in)

Radiator Surge Tank Assembly

Tip
Disconnect the quick connect and remove the lower surge tank hose.
