Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2009 🢒 DTS 🢒 Steering 🢒 Power Steering 🢒 Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 284268 Size: SH
  1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
  2. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  4. Remove the power steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement.
  5. Remove the wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement.

    6. Object Number: 493550 Size: SH
  6. Remove the power steering pressure hose bracket retaining nut (2) at the cylinder head.

    7. Object Number: 460600 Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose (1) from the bracket (2) at the frame.
  8. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering gear.
  9. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 460600 Size: SH
  1. Position the power steering pressure hose (1) in the vehicle.
  2. Connect the power steering pressure hose to the bracket (2) at the frame.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering gear and tighten to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

    4. Object Number: 493550 Size: SH
  4. Install the power steering pressure hose bracket and retaining nut (2) to the cylinder head and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
  5. Install the wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement.
  6. Install the power steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement.
  7. Lower the vehicle.

    8. Object Number: 284268 Size: SH
  8. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump and tighten to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
  9. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
