SOME 1982 AND 1983 CADILLACS EQUIPPED WITH AN HT4100 ENGINE MAY EXPERIENCE A LACK OF POWER AND/OR BACKFIRING CONDITION. THIS CONDITION MAY BE CAUSED BY A WORN CAMSHAFT AND/OR LIFTER. WHEN SERVICING A VEHICLE FOR THIS CONDITION, A CAMSHAFT KIT (P/N 1628822) HAS BEEN RELEASED. THIS KIT CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING PARTS: QUANTITY PART NAME 1 CAMSHAFT 16 LIFTERS 1 4 OUNCE BOTTLE OF CAMSHAFT PRELUBE WHEN REPLACING THE CAMSHAFT AND LIFTERS, BE SURE TO PRELUBE THE CAMSHAFT BEARING JOURNALS, LOBES, DISTRIBUTOR DRIVE GEAR, AND THE LIFTER FEET. ALWAYS CHANGE THE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER AFTER REPLACING THE CAMSHAFT AND LIFTERS.
