STARTING IN NOVEMBER, ALL 1982 "C" SERIES VEHICLES HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH A CENTER BULKHEAD CONNECTOR JUMPER HARNESS. THIS JUMPER HARNESS ROUTES THE WIRING FROM THE ENGINE HALF OF THE CENTER BULKHEAD CONNECTOR TO A METRIPACK CONNECTOR. THE METRIPACK CONNECTOR IS ATTACHED TO A BRACKET NEXT TO THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND ALLOWS FOR EASIER ACCESS IN DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING THE ENGINE WIRE HARNESS. REFER TO FIGURE 1 FOR THE PROPER INSTALLATION AND ROUTING OF THE JUMPER HARNESS. REFER TO THE APPROPRIATE JUMPER HARNESS CIRCUIT DIAGRAM (FIGURES 2-4) FOR THE CIRCUIT NUMBERS, PIN LOCATION, AND WIRE COLOR. ALSO REFER TO PAGE 8A-10 THROUGH 8A-12 IN THE LOOSELEAF PORTION OF THE 1982 SERVICE MANUAL FOR THE FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION OF EACH CIRCUIT. General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
