In order to evaluate fuel injector reliability on the 1982 Cadillac HT-4100 V-8 engine, a return program has been established. Any injector replaced under warranty through December 31, 1981 is to be returned to Cadillac using the following procedure:
1. Order the required replacement injector from GMWDD in the usual manner.
2. Ship the inoperative injector prepaid, along with a detailed and properly completed claim tag, to Cadillac using a black shipping label available from your zone representative. If labels are not readily available, return the subject injectors to:
Cadillac Motor Car Division 2860 Clark Street Detroit, Michigan 48232 Attention: Material Return Room - Dept. 811
3. Submit a warranty claim in the usual manner, including shipping charges. A copy of the prepaid shipping bill should be retained with the repair order.
Please make certain that all personnel responsible for handling replaced warranty parts, as well as claims clerks, are aware of this special, important program.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
