GR. 1 ECC WIRING SCHEMATICS REVISED
THIS ITEM CONTAINS REVISIONS TO FOUR OF THE ECC WIRING SCHEMATICS IN THE 1981 SERVICE MANUAL. THE FOUR SCHEMATICS ARE IN FIGURES 1A-54, 1A-57, 1A-59, AND 1A-61. DIAGRAM "A" SHOWS THE REVISED PIN SEQUENCE AT THE POWER MODULE FOR FIGURE 1A-54. DIAGRAM "B" SHOWS THE REVISED PIN SEQUENCE FOR FIGRUES 1A-57, 1A-59, AND 1A-61. ALSO INCLUDED IN DIAGRAM "B" IS THE REVISED TITLE AND CIRCUIT NUMBER 990 FOR PIN F. THESE REVISIONS SHOULD BE REFERENCED IN YOUR COPY OF THE 1981 SERVICE MANUAL.
GR. 3B P/S GEAR UPPER THRUST BEARING SPACER
THE METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE POWER STEERING GEAR UPPER THRUST BEAR- ING SPACER HAS BEEN REVISED FOR ALL MODEL YEARS AND SERIES STEERING GEARS USED BY CADILLAC (EXCLUDING THE 1982 CIMARRON RACK AND PINION STEERING). THE UPPER THRUST BEARING SPACER IS BEING MANUFACTURED WITH A SPLIT RING. THE THRUST BEARING SPACER SHOULD NOT BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF THIS SPLIT. ALL FUTURE SERVICE PARTS WILL BE OF THE SPLIT SPACER TYPE.
GR. 5 CIMARRON PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE (WHICH IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE 1982 SERVICE MANUAL) SHOULD BE FOLLOWED WHEN ADJUSTING THE PARKING BRAKE ON 1982 CIMARRONS:
1. APPLY PARKING BRAKE LEVER EXACTLY 5 CLICKS.
2. RAISE AND SUITABLY SUPPORT CAR.
3. CHECK THE EQUALIZER NUT GROOVE TO SEE THAT IT IS LIBERALLY LUBRICATED. IF NOT LUBRICATED, USE CHASSIS GREASE GM PART NUMBER 1052497 OR EQUIVALENT.
4. TIGHTEN ADUSTING NUT UNTIL RIGHT REAR WHEEL CAN JUST BE TURNED REARWARD USING TWO HANDS BUT IS LOCKED WHEN FORWARD ROTATION IS ATTEMPTED.
5. WITH THE PARKING BRAKE DISENGAGED, THE REAR WHEELS MUST TURN FREE- LY IN EITHER DIRECTION WITH NO BRAKE DRAG.
6. REMOVE SUPPORT AND LOWER CAR.

THIS PROM I.D., WHICH IS DISPLAYED AS PARAMETER .1.3 IN DFI DIAG- NOSTICS, WILL VERIFY THAT THE CORRECT PROM HAS BEEN INSTALLED IN THE ECM. ADDITIONAL PROM I.D.'S WILL BE ASSIGNED SHOULD A PRODUCTION CHANGE BE MADE IN THE PROM CALIBRATION. REFER TO THE GMWDD PARTS IN- FORMATION FOR THE SERVICE PART NUMBERS OF THESE PROM'S.
GR. 6D WARRANTY BATTERY REPLACEMENT INFORMATION
WHEN SUBMITTING A WARRANTY CLAIM FOR A BATTERY REPLACEMENT, THE LISTED PART NUMBERS SHOULD BE USED:
