INTERMEDIATE BAND WEAR AND/OR TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE IN 2ND GEAR COULD RESULT FROM A LEAKING 3-4 ACCUMULATOR PISTON AND "O" RING SEAL. BEGINNING IN EARLY PRODUCTION 1982, THM 200-4R TRANSMISSIONS HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH A NEW DESIGN 3-4 ACCUMULATOR PISTON AND "O" RING SEAL, TO ENHANCE THE 3-4 ACCUMULATOR PISTON SEALING CAPACITY (REFER TO FIGURE 1). THE NEW DESIGN 3-4 ACCUMULATOR PISTON AND SEAL PACKAGE (P/N 8634956) IS AVAILABLE AND SHOULD BE USED WHEN REPLACING THE PAST DESIGN.
