A GM Goodwrench 4.3L diesel engine (P/N 22525606) is now available through GMWDD. The 4.3L engine incorporates all refinements of current model production, including roller lifter valve trains and aluminum cylinder heads.
The engine win include a cylinder block assembly, connecting rod and piston assemblies, crankshaft, crankshaft balancer hub, camshaft, cylinder head assemblies including valve trains, camshaft and crankshaft sprockets with chain, timing gears and timing cover, oil pump and screen, oil pan, oil filter, oil level indicator guide and instruction sheet.
The engine will contain oil. The label on the intake manifold cover will indicate the type of oil, winter or summer, that is installed in the engine. It may be necessary to change the oil if it is incorrect for the season that exists when the engine is being instaned.
The following components need to be transferred to the replacement Goodwrench engine: intake manifold and related plumbing, exhaust manifolds, generator, power steering pump, vacuum pump, diesel fuel injection pump, injection nozzles and pipes, fuel pump, filter and pipes, water pump, block heater, flexplate, pulleys, brackets and belts. The intake manifold gasket kit and the water pump body gasket must be ordered separately.
For warranty purposes, use labor Operation No. J1840 at 7.8 hours. Add for replacing governor weight retaining ring (if required) .7 hour, with Cruise Control (if equipped) .1 hour.
