The 1985 FWD Deville and Fleetwood use a serviceable radiator unit. This bulletin outlines service and parts ordering procedures for the radiator. The radiator in the 1985 FWD Deville and Fleetwood allows dealerships the option of servicing the radiator themselves or sending it to a local radiator repair station. If the radiator is to be serviced in the dealership, the procedures in Section 6B of the 1985 FWD Deville and Fleetwood Service Information Manual should be followed:
Parts Ordering
1. Component radiator parts are available through an AC Delco authorized radiator service center for servicing the radiator. These components cannot be ordered through GMWDD. The following is a list of the service parts.

2. Under certain conditions, the entire radiator assembly may require replacement. The part number for the assembly is as follows:
radiator assembly 3056896
This part should be ordered through GMWDD using standard parts ordering procedures.
Current Service Information Manual procedures use a screwdriver and slip joint plier or self locking type plier as the required tools for tightening and loosening the clinch tabs on the radiator assembly. Special tools are also available for this purpose from tool suppliers.
Refer to page 6B-10 the 1985 FWD Fleetwood and Deville Service Information Manual for proper service procedures.
For warranty purposes, use labor Operation No. J3080 at .6 hour for radiator removal and installation. Add the following times as needed:
1.0 hr. to Repair Core 1.2 hr. to Replace Core
.7 hr. to Replace Transmission Oil Cooler
To Replace Transmission Oil Cooler Gasket:
.5 hr. One .6 hr. Both
To Replace Side Tank and/or Gasket:
.7 hr. One 1.2 hr. Both
If the entire radiator assembly is replaced, use labor Operation No. J3100 at .6 hour.
