FRONT DISC BRAKE PADS LINING WEAR-NEW PADS P/N'S

MODELS AFFECTED: 1985 DEVILLE AND FLEETWOOD

Some 1985 Front Wheel Drive Devilles and Fleetwoods built prior to B.C. #255675 may experience front brake lining wear. This brake lining wear condition may occur on only one of the four front brake pads, sometimes in less than 10,000 miles.

If this condition is encountered, inspect the front brake rotors and resurface if required or replace if wear exceeds specifications shown below. Replace all front brake pads using GMWDD lining kit P/N 12321410.

NOTICE: Inboard front brake linings use a thermal insulation layer which is approximately 2.5mm (.100") thick. Due to this layer, inboard pads will be approximately 2.5mm (.100") thicker than outboard pads under normal wear conditions.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
