The 1985 Ninety-Eight Owner's Manual description of temperature setting and readout is in error. It should read:
'Temperature settings may be varied by 1 DEG increments between 18 DEG C and 29 DEG C by pushing the 'HI' or 'LO' buttos. When the temperature is selected below 18 DEG C, the temperdture readout will go from 18 DEG C to 15 DEG C (Max Cooling) in one step. When selecting a temperature above 29 DEG C, the readout will go from 29 DEG C to 32 DEG C (Max Heat) in one step.'
These two settings indicate maximum cooling and maximum heating when outside ambient temperatures permit.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
