Trim lace which may become loose from the exterior door frame mouldings on some 1985 'C' Cadillacs (see Figure 1), may be reinstalled using the following procedure.
1. Loosen enough lace to make a repair to the affected area. DO NOT remove the entire lace from the moulding.
2. Apply a small bead of 3M No. 08061 plastic and emblem adhesive (or equivalent) to the lace surface as shown in Figure 1, Section A.
3. Install the lace into the cavity between the door panel and the moulding.
4. Being careful not to damage the painted surfaces, clean any adhesive squeeze-out with a clean cloth and a small amount of lacquer thinner.
5. Allow to dry for 15 minutes.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
