SQUEAK/CRUNCHING NOISE FROM INSIDE FRONT SEAT BACK

SUBJECT: SQUEAK OR CRUNCHING NOISE INSIDE FRONT SEAT BACK (APPLY A STRIP OF BLACK FRICTION

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1989-90 'C' FLEETWOOD SIXTY SPECIALS

Some 1989-90 Fleetwood Sixty Specials may experience a squeak or crunching noise coming from the front seat back cushions when pressure is applied to the back. To repair this condition use the following procedure:

1. Remove front seat back panel as outlined in Section 10-10-19 of the 1990 Service Information Manual.

2. Disengage and remove both clips holding the trim cover to the seat frame horizontal wires. Refer to Figure 1.

3. Apply a strip of black friction tape over the frame wire at the clips areas. Refer to Figure 1.

4. Reinstall clips over the friction tape. Spread the clip to achieve proper fore and aft movement of the clip on the wire frame and prevent the squeak or crunching noise.

5. Reinstall seat back panel.
