Some 1990 DeVilles and Fleetwoods built before VIN breakpoint 228653 and equipped with memory seat (option code AG3) may experience a condition where the memory seat module may lock up while adjusting the seat controls, disabling the driver's seat. The module may be reset to normal operation temporarily by disconnecting the power feed to the module or by pulling the power feed circuit breaker (#24).
To repair this condition use the following procedure:
1. Remove and reinstall circuit breaker #24. If the memory seat module is still locked up, refer to the 1990 Service Information Manual for diagnosis.
2. If the memory seats are now operating, replace the memory seat module with P/N 25556224.
For warranty purposes use Labor Operation T6479 at .5 hour.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
