DOOR GLASS RATTLE (SHORTEN REGULATOR DRIVE TAPE)

MODELS AFFECTED: 1990 DE VILLES AND FLEETWOODS

Some 1990 DeVilles and Fleetwoods may experience a condition of a rattle in the front door during closing cycle with the door glass in the full down position. This condition may be caused by the door glass traveling down below the door belt line sealing strip which allows in-and-out movement of the glass.

To repair this condition remove the door armrest and trim panel and shorten the reulator drive tape one notch. This will move the glass up to the glass sealing strip for additional support.

For warranty purposes use Labor Operation T6397 at .8 hour.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
