3RD CLUTCH & OVERHAUL KITS MAY REQUIRE CALIBRATION UPDATE KIT

MODELS AFFECTED: 1989-1990 DE VILLES, FLEETWOODS, ELDORADOS, AND SEVILLES

1989-1990 model HYDRA-MATIC 4T60 transaxles produced after March 17, 1989 (Julian Date 076) were recalibrated to match new 3rd clutch fiber material. The recalibrations required changes to the spacer plate, 3-2 control spring, and 2-3 accumulator spring. Transaxle model codes were changed at the time to allow referencing of internal components for service.

Service Parts Information:

When replacing the 3rd clutch fiber plates on 1989 or 1990 models for any reason, order service parts according to the model code on the identification tag.

*IF THESE PACKAGES ARE NOT AVAILABLE, ORDER 8662990 FOR 3RD CLUTCH PLATES OR 8662989 FOR OVERHAUL PACKAGES AND A CALIBRATION UPDATE KIT, 8675936. THE UPDATE KIT CONTAINS THE 2-3 ACCUMULATOR VALVE SPRING, 3-2 CONTROL VALVE SPRING, AND SPACER PLATE ASSEMBLY. ALL COMPONENTS IN THE CALIBRATION UPDATE KIT MUST BE INSTALLED IN THE VALVE BODY TO COMPLETE THE UPDATE. AFTER THE CALIBRATION UPDATE IS COMPLETED, INSTALL THE APPROPRIATE NEW MODEL TAG SUPPLIED WITH THE KIT.
