REVISED TO CHANGE BULLETIN NUMBER 92-8-152 TO READ 92-8-157.
The headlamps on 1992 DeVilles, Fleetwoods, Eldorados, Sevilles, and Allantes are composite headlamps which consist of a lens and housing with a serviceable bulb. The headlamps on 1992 vehicles should be aimed visually, using the following procedure:
1. Referring to Figure 1, place the vehicle on a level surface so the headlamps are 7.6 m (25 ft.) from a wall or other flat surface. Vehicle must be perpendicular to the aiming surface.
2. Locate the center line of the aiming surface so that it is in line with the center of the vehicle. This can be done by marking the center of the front and rear windows with narrow strips of masking tape. Looking through the rear window, use these "sights" to locate the center line of the aiming surface with the center of the vehicle.
3. Referring to Figure 2, mark the horizontal center line of the headlamps on the flat surface directly in front of the vehicle. Do this by measuring from the floor to the center line of the headlamp, approximately 62 cm (24 in.) for the Eldorado and Seville, 64 cm (25 in.) for the Allante, DeVille, and Fleetwood. Transfer this measurement to the aiming surface from the floor up.
4. Measure from the center of the vehicle to the center of each headlamp, approximately 55 cm (22 in.) for the Eldorado and Allante; 50 cm (20 in.) for the Seville; and 58 cm (23 in.) for the DeVille and Fleetwood. Transfer this measurement to the aiming surface on either side of the vehicle center line, along the horizontal center line. The aiming surface should now look like the aiming surface in Figure 2.
5. Place the headlamps on low beam. The beam pattern for both headlamps should be below the horizontal center line and to the right of the vertical center line on the aiming surface as shown in Figure 3.
The Cadillac headlamp aim specification is: The top edge of the beam pattern should be 50mm (2 in.) above or below the horizontal center line, and the left edge of the pattern should be 50mm 12 in.) to the left or right of the headlamp vertical center line. To make aim adjustments refer to the Service Information Manual, Section 10-5.
6. The high beams are automatically aimed when the low beams are aimed.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
