SUBJECT: VERTICAL SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT (INSERT FOAM BLOCK)

MODELS: 1994-96 CADILLAC CONCOURS, DEVILLE

CONDITION:

SOME OWNERS MAY REQUEST MORE VERTICAL SEAT HEIGHT.

CORRECTION:

A PROCEDURE HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO RAISE THE SEATING POSITION. HOWEVER, IT DOES AFFECT COMFORT, MAKING THE SEAT FEEL FIRMER. THE REPAIR WILL RAISE THE SEAT HEIGHT APPROXIMATELY 10MM.

PROCEDURE:

1. MOVE SEAT ADJUSTER FULL FORWARD.

2. DISASSEMBLE PLASTIC SIDE PANEL FROM THE OUTBOARD SIDE OF THE SEAT BY REMOVING THREE SCREWS.

3. REMOVE SIDE PANEL FROM SEAT.

4. DISENGAGE THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS FROM SWITCH ASSEMBLY IN SIDE PANEL.

5. ROUTE WIRING HARNESS THROUGH THE TRIM COVER AND FOAM. PLACE OUT OF THE WAY.

6. DISENGAGE THE J-RETAINERS ON THE TRIM FROM THE FRONT AND SIDES OF THE CUSHION FRAME.

7. LIFT THE FRONT OF THE TRIM COVER/FOAM ASSEMBLY FROM THE CUSHION FRAME.

8. INSERT THE FOAM BLOCK, P/N 25644365, BETWEEN THE SEAT SUSPENSION AND THE FOAM.

IMPORTANT: WHEN INSTALLING THE FOAM BLOCK, ENSURE THAT THE PROTECTIVE COATING IS FACING THE SEAT SUSPENSION. THE WIDER SIDE OF THE FOAM BLOCK IS TOWARD THE REAR OF THE SEAT. ENSURE THAT THE FOAM BLOCK DOES NOT LIE DIRECTLY OVER THE REAR, WHITE SUSPENSION WIRE.

9. ASSEMBLE SEAT BY PLACING COVER/FOAM ASSEMBLY ON TO THE CUSHION FRAME.

10. ENGAGE THE J-RETAINER ON THE TRIM COVER TO THE FRONT AND SIDES OF THE CUSHION FRAME.

11. ROUTE WIRING HARNESS THROUGH THE FOAM AND THE TRIM COVER.

12. ATTACH WIRING HARNESS TO THE SWITCH IN SIDE PANEL.

13. ASSEMBLE SIDE PANEL TO THE SEAT BY SECURING WITH THREE SCREWS.
