Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Disconnect the positive battery cable at the battery.
  3. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement Intake Manifold Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 104910  Size: MH
  5. Remove the solenoid S terminal nut.
  6. Remove the battery cable nut.

  7. Object Number: 54606  Size: SH
  8. Remove the starter motor mounting bolts.
  9. Remove the starter motor.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the complete spark plug wire assembly on top of the engine.
  2. Install the spark plug wire channel onto the front camshaft cover and the intake manifold.
  3. Connect the spark plug wires to the spark plugs. Be sure that the boots are fully seated.

  5. Connect the spark plug wires to the ignition control module assembly.
  6. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement Intake Manifold Replacement .
