Muffler LH Side w/ Tailpipe

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle.
  2. Support the intermediate pipe.
  3. Remove the left-hand U-bolt clamp.

  4. Object Number: 71712  Size: SH
  5. Remove the muffler hanger and the muffler/tailpipe assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 71712  Size: SH
  1. Install the muffler and the hanger.

  2. Object Number: 71715  Size: SH
  3. Connect the muffler to the intermediate pipe.
  4. Install the left-hand muffler U-bolt clamp.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp nuts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Muffler RH Side w/ Tailpipe

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle.
  2. Support the intermediate pipe.

  3. Object Number: 25822  Size: SH
  4. Cut the intermediate pipe as close to the muffler as the tool will permit.

  5. Object Number: 71712  Size: SH
  6. Remove the muffler hanger and the muffler/tailpipe assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 71712  Size: SH
  1. Install the muffler and the hanger.

  2. Object Number: 72015  Size: SH
  3. Connect the muffler to the intermediate pipe, using a U-bolt clamp.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp nuts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
