Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the Throttle Body Assembly. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Removal.
  3. Remove the TP sensor mounting bolts.
  4. Remove the TP sensor from the throttle body.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the TP sensor onto the throttle body.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the TP sensor screws to 2.3 N·m (20 lb in). Refer to

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the Throttle Body Assemby. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Installation.
  4. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  5. Important: Ensure nothing is touching or obstructing the accelerator or brake pedals during the following TP Sensor Learn Procedure.

  6. Ensure throttle blade is at rest.
  7. Turn the key ON.
  8. Wait 30 seconds.
  9. Turn the key to LOCK.
  10. Wait 30 seconds.
  11. The TP Sensor Learn Procedure is now complete.
