Driver or Passenger Seat Replacement Deville

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 315274  Size: LH
  1. Operate the seat to the full-forward position.
  2. Operate the 8-way seat to the full-up position.
  3. Remove the adjuster-to-floor pan rear anchor bolts (1).
  4. Disconnect the rear heat duct (3).
  5. Tilt the seat forward.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  7. Pull the seat rearward.
  8. Disengage the front retaining hooks, with the aid of an assistant.

  9. With the DeVille seat, remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in order to aid in the removal.
  10. Remove the left front seat out the left rear door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 315274  Size: LH
  1. Install the seat into the vehicle, with the aid of an assistant.
  2. Engage the front hooks.

  3. Tilt the seat forward.
  4. Connect the electrical connectors.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the rear anchor bolts (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the seat anchor bolts to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).

  7. Connect the rear heat duct (3).
  8. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
  9. Inspect the operation of the seat.

Driver or Passenger Seat Replacement Eldorado

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the door.

  2. Object Number: 161034  Size: SH
  3. Remove the lower fastener to the shoulder belt guide loop.
  4. Carefully guide the shoulder belt out through the guide loop.

  5. Object Number: 315281  Size: MH
  6. Operate the seat to the full-rearward position.
  7. Important: The front sight shield clips break easily.

  8. Remove the front sight shields from the seat tracks.
  9. Operate the seat to the full-forward position.
  10. Remove the adjuster-to-floor pan rear anchor bolts (1).
  11. Tilt the seat forward.
  12. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  13. Pull the seat rearward.
  14. Disengage the front retaining hooks (2).
  15. Remove the front seat, with the aid from an assistant.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 315281  Size: MH
  1. Install the seat to the vehicle, with the aid from an assistant.
  2. Engage the front hooks (2).

  3. Tilt the seat rearward.
  4. Connect the electrical connectors.
  5. Install the rear sight shields.
  6. Lower the seat to the floor.
  7. Install the rear anchor bolts (1) to the seat track assembly (3).
  8. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
    Tighten the seat anchor bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb  ft).

  9. Move the seat full rearward in order to install the front sight shields.
  10. Install the front sight shields.
  11. Reposition the seat.

  13. Carefully guide the shoulder belt through the shoulder belt guide loop.
  14. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  15. Install the shoulder belt guide loop fastener.
  16. Tighten
    Tighten the shoulder belt guide loop fastener to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  17. Inspect the operation of the seat.
  18. Close the door.
