Telescope Motor Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle Column Shift


    Object Number: 588843  Size: SH
  1. Install the white end of the telescope cable assembly to the steering column.
  2. Install the black end of the telescope cable assembly thru the spring cable and to the telescope drive motor assembly.

  3. Object Number: 588842  Size: SH
  4. Snap on the potentiometer housing (3).
  5. Install the telescope drive motor assembly (1) to the steering column.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the 2 TORX® head screws (2).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  9. Connect the connectors of the telescope drive motor assembly (1).

  1. Install the black end of the telescope cable assembly to the steering column.
  2. Install the white end of the telescope cable assembly to telescope drive motor assembly.

  3. Object Number: 626487  Size: SH
  4. Install the potentiometer housing (3).
  5. Install the telescope drive motor assembly to the steering column.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.   10. Install the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
