Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core. Refer to Heater Hoses Replacement .
  2. Remove the instrument panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 292121  Size: SH
  4. Remove the heater core cover fasteners (1).

  5. Object Number: 292125  Size: SH
  6. Remove the heater core retaining fasteners (1).

  7. Object Number: 292087  Size: SH
  8. Remove the heater core retaining straps.
  9. Remove the heater core.
  10. Remove the heater core case seals.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 292087  Size: SH
  1. Install the heater core.
  2. Install the heater core retaining straps.
  3. Install the new heater core case seals.

  4. Object Number: 292125  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the heater core retaining fasteners (1).
  6. Tighten
    Torque the fasteners (1) to 1.4 N·m (13 lb in).

  7. Install the heater core cover fasteners (1).
  8. Tighten
    Torque the fasteners (1) to 1.4 N·m (13 lb in).

  9. Install the instrument panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  10. Connect the heater hoses to the heater core. Refer to Heater Hoses Replacement .
