Removal Procedure
- Recover the refrigerant
from the system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Unclip the Positive battery cable from the top of the accumulator
cover.
- Remove the A/C line (1) from the snap clamp (2)
on the accumulator cover.
- Unsnap the accumulator
cover (1) and remove the cover from the accumulator (2).
- Remove the evaporator hose assembly from the accumulator.

- Remove the accumulator.
Installation Procedure
- Install the accumulator.
Important: Inspect the sealing washers for damage.
Any sealing washers that show signs of damage need to be replaced.
Sealing washers do not require lubrication.
- Install the evaporator hose assembly to the accumulator.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the evaporator
hose assembly retaining nut.
Tighten
Tighten the evaporator hose assembly to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
- Install the suction hose to the accumulator.
- Install the suction hose retaining nut.
- Tighten the retaining nut.
