Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2001 🢒 DeVille 🢒 Body and Accessories 🢒 Exterior Trim 🢒 Emblem/Nameplate Replacement

Replacement Procedure (Cadillac, 32 V Northstar)
  1. Wash the affected panel (1) with a soap and water mixture.
  2. Dry the affected panel using a clean cloth.
  3. Remove all traces of adhesive from the panel and from the back of the emblem/nameplate using 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner 08984 or equivalent.
  4. Wipe the panel with a clean cloth and an alcohol and water mixture.

    5. Object Number: 711101 Size: MH
  5. Using the following dimensions, mark the proper position of the emblem/nameplate with a length of masking tape or a magnetic strip.
    6. • Dimension a, "32 V Northstar" emblem: 35 mm
    • Dimension a, "Cadillac" emblem: 35 mm
    • Dimension b, "32 V Northstar" emblem: 71 mm
    • Dimension b, "Cadillac" emblem: 78.1 mm
    • Dimension c, "32 V Northstar" emblem: 84.9 mm
    • Dimension c, "Cadillac" emblem: 83 mm
  6. If the body is below 21°C (70°F), warm the affected panel with a heat lamp or a heat gun while proceeding with the following step.
  7. If necessary, apply one of the following to types of double-coated acrylic foam tape:
    8. • 3M 06380 - white.
    • 3M 06377 - black.
    • 3M 06377 - gray.

  8. Align the emblem/nameplate with the panel.
  9. Press the emblem/nameplate firmly in place to ensure proper adhesion.

Replacement Procedure (Deville, DHS, DTS)
  1. Wash the affected panel (1) with a soap and water mixture.
  2. Dry the affected panel using a clean cloth.
  3. Remove all traces of adhesive from the panel and from the back of the emblem/nameplate using 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner 08984 or equivalent.
  4. Wipe the panel (1) with a clean cloth and an alcohol and water mixture.

  5. Using the following dimensions, mark the proper position of the emblem/nameplate with a length of masking tape or a magnetic strip.
    6. • Dimension a, "DHS" or "DTS" emblem: 83.2 mm
    • Dimension a, "DEVILLE" emblem: 84.4 mm
    • Dimension b, "DHS" or "DTS" emblem: 70.2 mm
    • Dimension b, "DEVILLE" emblem: 70.2 mm
    • Dimension c, "DEVILLE" emblem: 84.9 mm
    • Dimension c, "DHS" or "DTS" emblem: 35 mm
  6. If the body is below 21°C (70°F), warm the affected panel with a heat lamp or a heat gun while proceeding with the following step.
  7. If necessary, apply one of the following to types of double-coated acrylic foam tape:
    8. • 3M 06380 - white.
    • 3M 06377 - black.
    • 3M 06377 - gray.

  8. Align the emblem/nameplate with the panel.
  9. Press the emblem/nameplate firmly in place to ensure proper adhesion.
