Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seats. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement in Seats.
  2. Remove the center console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  3. Remove center seat, if equipped. Refer to Front Center Seat Replacement in Seats.
  4. Remove the windshield pillar trim. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  5. Remove the center pillar trim. Refer to Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  6. Remove the sail panel. Refer to Sail Panel Replacement .
  7. Notice: If the vehicle is equipped with rear vanity mirrors, the rear vanity mirrors must be removed before the removal of the headliner or damage to the roof may result.

  8. If equipped, remove the rear vanity mirrors. Refer to Rear Seat Roof Illuminated Mirror Replacement .
  9. Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  10. Disconnect the headliner wiring from the rearview mirror.
  11. Remove the rearview mirror. Refer to Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement in Stationary Windows.
  12. Pull the door opening moldings down to clear headliner.
  13. Remove the assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .

  15. Disconnect the headliner wiring harness connector.

  17. Open the wire harness retainers and remove the harness.

  18. Object Number: 474275  Size: SH
  19. Pull the headliner down in order to release the headliner from the cardboard roof dampener. If equipped with sunroof pull down on headliner to release magnets from the sunroof module.
  20. Notice: Use care when removing and installing the headliner. If reusing the headliner lay the headliner down flat on a clean surface. Excessive bending will damage the headliner.

  21. Remove the headliner through the front passenger door opening.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 474275  Size: SH

    Important: Gluing the headliner to the cardboard roof insulator during installation is not required.

  1. Load the headliner into the vehicle through the front passenger door opening.
  2. With a helper, raise the headliner into position. If equipped with sunroof, align the magnets and install.
  3. Install the assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  4. Install the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  5. Install the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  6. Install the center pillar garnish molding. Refer to Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 107684  Size: SH
  8. Connect the headliner wiring harness connector.

  9. Object Number: 107683  Size: SH
  10. Route and secure the wiring harness in the wiring harness retainers.
  11. Install the sail panel. Refer to Sail Panel Replacement .
  12. Install the rear vanity mirrors. Refer to Rear Seat Roof Illuminated Mirror Replacement .
  13. Important: Ensure that the inside lip of the door opening weather-strip is properly seated to close out the headliner, sail panel and pillar garnish moldings.

  14. Install the door opening weather-strips in the door openings.
  15. Install the rear view mirror. Refer to Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement .
  16. Install the center console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  17. Install center seat, if equipped. Refer to Front Center Seat Replacement in Seats.
  18. Install the seats. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement in Seats.
