Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 488880 Size: SH
  1. Remove the right rear compartment side trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side in Body Rear End.

    2. Object Number: 488881 Size: SH
  2. Insert a small bladed screwdriver under locking tab and unlock connector.
  3. Disconnect the connector from the rear object detection module.

    4. Object Number: 488882 Size: SH
  4. Remove the mounting nuts.
  5. Remove the rear object detection module.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 488882 Size: SH
  1. Install the rear object detection module.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the rear object detection module mounting nuts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the rear object detection module mounting nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  3. Install electrical connector and press in locking tab.
  4. Install the rear compartment side trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side in Body Rear End.
