High Effort to Operate Steering Column Shift Lever Out of PARK (Replace Shift Lever)

Some customers may comment on the high effort required to move the steering column shift lever out of the PARK (P) position.

A new Automatic Transaxle Control Lever Assembly is now available from GMSPO.

Replace the existing steering column shift lever with the new assembly, P/N 26092330.

Refer to Shift Lever Replacement -- On Vehicle in the Steering Wheel and Column --Tilt sub-section of the Service Manual for the replacement procedure.
