The air induction system provides contaminant and sound filtration of the intake air. As the throttle plate opens, the outside air enters the air cleaner housing. The housing acts as a resonator to reduce induction noises, and aids in the filtration process. The air then passes through an air cleaner element contained in the housing. The air cleaner element provides maximum air filtration without restricting the air flow. The filtered air flows through the intake air ducts, pass the throtle body, and into the engine.
