  1. Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (3) onto the steering column.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the lower pan head tapping screw (2) first.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the lower screw to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  5. Install the top pan head tapping screw (1) last.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the top screw to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

    Caution: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Coil Caution in the Preface section.

  7. Connect the 3 connectors to the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (3).
  8. Install the upper and lower trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
  9. Install the steering column into the vehicle. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
  10. Install the steering wheel onto the steering column. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  11. Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
