Front Center Seat Replacement w/o UV8

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Adjust both the left and the right front seats to the rear.

  2. Object Number: 474665  Size: SH
  3. Remove the 2 front center seat to floor fasteners (1).
  4. Adjust both the left and the right front seats forward.
  5. Remove the 2 rear center seat to floor fasteners (2).
  6. Lift the center seat (3) in order to access the electrical connector (4).
  7. Remove the front center seat (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the center seat (3) to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the center seat electrical connector (4).
  3. Adjust both the left and the right front seats forward.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the 2 rear fasteners (2) to the center seat. (3).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners (2) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  7. Adjust both the left and the right front seats to the rear.
  8. Install the 2 front fasteners (1) to the center seat (3).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners (1) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

Removal Procedure

Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

   • Air bag deployment
   • Personal injury
   • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
   • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
   • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

  1. Disable air bag system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Adjust both the left and the right front seats to the rear.
  3. Remove the two front center seat bolts (1).
  4. Adjust both the left and the right front seats forward.
  5. Remove the two rear center seat bolts (2).
  6. Lift the center seat (3) in order to access the center seat electrical connector (4).

  8. Disconnect the cellular phone electrical connector (1).
  9. Disconnect the cellular phone coaxial cable (2).
  10. Remove the front center seat from the vehicle.
  11. If the center seat assembly is being replaced, remove the docking station and adapter from the center seat. Refer to Cellular Telephone Docking Station Replacement in Cellular Communication.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the docking station and docking station adapter to the center seat. Refer to Cellular Telephone Docking Station Replacement in Cellular Communication.
  2. Install the center seat to the vehicle.
  3. Connect the cellular phone electrical connector (1).
  4. Connect the cellular phone coaxial cable (2).

  6. Connect the center seat (3) electrical connector (4).
  7. Adjust both the left and the right front seats forward.
  8. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  9. Install the two rear bolts (2).
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts (2) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  11. Adjust both the left and the right front seats to the rear.
  12. Install the two front bolts (1).
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts (1) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  14. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
