Removal Procedure
Important: Do not apply battery voltage to a new sunroof actuator motor prior to
installing the actuator motor to the sunroof module assembly.
The sunroof window must be in the full closed position.
- If possible, close the sunroof window before removing the sunroof
actuator motor.
- Lower the headliner at the rear in order to gain access to the
sunroof actuator motor. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Disconnect the electrical
connectors (3) from the sunroof actuator motor (1).
- Remove the bolts (5) attaching the sunroof actuator motor (1)
to the sunroof module assembly (2).
- Remove the sunroof actuator motor from the sunroof module assembly.
Installation Procedure
- Manually move the sunroof
window to the full closed position.
- Install the sunroof actuator motor (1) to the sunroof module
assembly (2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts (5)
attaching the sunroof actuator motor to the sunroof module assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connectors (3) to the sunroof actuator
motor (1).
Important: Verify the sunroof operation before installing the headliner.
- Check the window fit to the roof opening. Refer to
Sunroof Window Height and Opening Fit Adjustment
.
- Install the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
