Did you perform the Theft Deterrent Diagnostic System Check?

Important: Ensure that all the doors and the rear compartment lid are closed. The content theft deterrent (CTD) system will not arm without all of the doors and rear compartment lid being closed.

Perform the following to activate the CTD alarm mode:

    • Open all door windows.
    • Lock the vehicle using the power door lock switch.
    • Wait for the SECURITY indicator to turn off.
    • Reach in and manually unlock the suspect door.
    • Open the suspect door.

Do all of the alarm mode functions activate (hazard lamps flash and horn pulses)?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Are only the hazard lamps inoperative?

Go to Step 4

Go to Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Alarm Mode Inoperative

Place the hazard switch in the ON position.

Do the hazard lamps flash?

Go to Step 5

Test the hazard switch signal circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 8

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the dash integration module (DIM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Record the personalization settings to transfer to the new module. Refer to Personalization Description and Operation in Personalization.
  2. Replace the DIM. Refer to Dash Integration Module Replacement in Body Control System.
  3. Perform the dash integration module (DIM) set up procedure. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration on Body Control System.
