Did you perform the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Open and Close all of the doors.
  2. Place the courtesy lamp switch in the OFF position.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Do the courtesy lamps remain illuminated?

Go to Step 3

With a scan tool, observe all of the Door Jamb Switch parameters in each of the Door Module inputs data lists.

Does the scan tool indicate that any of the Door Jamb Switch parameters are ON?

Go to Step 6

With a scan tool, observe the Interior Lamp Switch parameter in the Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM) Non - HVAC data list.

Does the scan tool display ON?

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the headlamp switch.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the Interior Lamp Switch parameter.

Does the scan tool display ON?

Go to Step 8

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the appropriate door lock actuator.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the Door Jamb Switch parameter.

Does the scan tool display ON?

Test the appropriate door open switch signal circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the interior lamp switch on signal circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test for a short to ground in the appropriate interior lamp control circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the appropriate door lock actuator. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Important:: Perform the setup procedure for the Rear Integration Module (RIM).

Replace the RIM. Refer to Rear Integration Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Important:: Perform the setup procedure for the Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM). Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration .
