Removal Procedure

    Caution: When you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, you must disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause air bag deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraints.

    2. Object Number: 589845 Size: SH
  2. Remove the passenger side rear assist handle. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement in Interior Trim.

    3. Object Number: 106069 Size: SH
  3. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.

    4. Object Number: 106073 Size: SH
  4. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.

    5. Object Number: 474797 Size: SH
  5. Remove the rear passenger seat belt retractor (4). Refer to Rear Seat Belt Retractor Replacement in Restraints.

    6. Object Number: 106197 Size: SH
  6. Remove the passenger side rear sail panel. Refer to Sail Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

    7. Object Number: 493161 Size: SH

    Important: Release the passenger side center pillar trim garnish molding upper retainer.

  7. Carefully pull the upper center trim panel inward in order to allow clearance for the headliner.
  8. Carefully pull the passenger side of the headliner downward in order to release the center and rearward headliner roof magnets.

  9. Reach inward between the headliner and roof panel in order to release the sunroof express module clip (3) securing the express module (1) to the sunroof module (2).
  10. With the clip (3) depressed, slide the express module toward the sunroof actuator motor.

  11. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  12. Remove the sunroof express module from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the electrical connectors to the sunroof express module.

    2. Object Number: 468361 Size: SH
  2. Install the sunroof express module tabs (2) into the sunroof module slots (3) located on the sunroof module.
  3. Slide the sunroof express module (1) away from the sunroof motor until the sunroof express module is fully engaged to the sunroof module.

    4. Important: Test the proper operation of the sunroof functions before installing the interior trim components.

  4. Reposition the headliner to the center and rearward roof magnets.

  5. Install the passenger side sail panel. Refer to Sail Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

    6. Object Number: 474797 Size: SH
  6. Install the passenger side rear seat belt retractor (4). Refer to Rear Seat Belt Retractor Replacement in Restraints.

    7. Object Number: 106073 Size: SH
  7. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.

    8. Object Number: 106069 Size: SH
  8. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer Rear Seat Cushion Replacement to in Seats.

    9. Object Number: 493161 Size: SH
  9. Align the upper center trim panel retainer, push inward in order to secure.
  10. Reposition the passenger rear door opening weatherstrip.

    11. Object Number: 295014 Size: SH
  11. Install the passenger side rear assist handle. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement in Interior Trim.
  12. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraints.
  13. Close the passenger rear door.
