Tools Required
J 39400 Halogen Leak Detector
Removal Procedure
- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Disconnect
the electrical connector from the low side temperature sensor.
- Unscrew
the A/C low side temperature sensor (1) from the evaporator hose assembly.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Ensure
the low side A/C temperature (1) sensor has an undamaged O-ring installed.
- Lubricate the low side A/C temperature (1) with a light coating
of refrigerant oil.
- Install the A/C low side temperature (1) sensor to the refrigerant
line.
Tighten
Tighten the sensor to 7.5 N·m (66 lb in).
- Connect
the electrical connector to the sensor.
- Recharge the A/C system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Leak test the fittings of the repaired or reinstalled component using J 39400
.
