Subject:Flutter Noise with A/C On Full Cold, Mode at Bi-Level, Blower at Med/Hi and Recirculation On (Reprogram Instrument Panel Module (IPM))

Models:2000-2003 Cadillac DeVille

Condition

Some customers may comment on hearing a "flutter" type noise in the passenger compartment when the air conditioning (A/C) system is ON and the climate controls are set as follows:

    • Mode: Bi-Level
    • Fan Speed: Medium or High
    • Temperature: Full Cold
    • Recirculation: On

Cause

This condition may be due to the oscillating movement of the A/C valve/door within the air distribution system ductwork. The positioning of the A/C valve/door is controlled by the Instrument Panel Module (IPM).
