This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated by a passenger door window switch or a passenger door window switch circuit. Each passenger door window switch is mounted to the trim panel of the appropriate passenger door. The circuits and contacts of each passenger door window switch receive battery voltage and ground from the corresponding door module, i.e. front passenger door module (PDM), left rear door module (LRDM), or right rear door module (RRDM). When a passenger door window switch is operated, the switch contacts close and the associated door module interprets the flow of voltage as a specific request to move the window up or down. If conditions are correct for window operation to occur, the door module then powers the associated window motor and circuits to move the window.
The PDM, LRDM, or RRDM must be powered and can not have B1327 - Battery Voltage Low or B1328 - Battery Voltage High set for one of these DTCs to set.
If the PDM, LRDM, or RRDM detects that its associated window switch is closed for more than 15 continuous seconds, it sets the DTC.
The action taken depends on which switch contacts are closed:
• | If an up switch contact is closed for more than 15 seconds, both UP and DOWN movements are disabled until the UP switch contact is no longer closed, or, the power mode changes from OFF to RUN. |
• | If a down switch contact is closed for more than 15 seconds, only the DOWN movement is disabled until the DOWN switch contact is no longer closed, or, the power mode changes from OFF to RUN. UP movement is operational regardless of the DOWN switch state. |
• | If an express switch contact is closed for more than 15 seconds, the Express movement is disabled until the express switch contact is no longer closed, or, the power mode changes from OFF to RUN. |
The PDM, LRDM, or RRDM clears the current DTC when the switch message is no longer received.
An intermittently sticking or binding switch may cause the DTC to set. Refer to Testing for Electrical Intermittents in Wiring Systems.

This step checks the module input state by using the normal input status.
This step checks to see that the input is seen by the module.
This step determines if the switch or the switch signal circuits between the switch and its associated module are shorted to ground.
