Definition: Either the heated seat cushion is inoperative or partially inoperative, or the heated seat back is inoperative. The heated seat system can be turned On and Off.

Verify that the Heated Seat Inoperative -- Cushion or Back complaint is present.

Does the heated seat system operate as described in the description and operation?

Does the seat cushion but not the seat back get warm?

  1. Disconnect the heated seat module connector C2
  2. Measure the resistance between the heated seat element supply voltage circuit and the element control circuit of the seat cushion heating element.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

10 ohms

  1. Disconnect the heated seat module connector C2
  2. Measure the resistance between the heated seat element supply voltage circuit and the element control circuit of the seat back heating element.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

10 ohms

Test the heated seat element voltage supply circuit and the element control circuit between the heated seat module and the seat cushion heating element for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
