Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement FE1, FE3
Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket retaining bolts.
- Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket.
- Using a pry bar, pry upwards and remove the stabilizer shaft insulator from the stabilizer shaft.
Installation Procedure
- Using a pry bar, pry upwards and install the stabilizer shaft insulator to the stabilizer shaft.
- Install the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket to the stabilizer shaft insulator.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the stabilizer shaft bracket retaining bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the stabilizer shaft bracket retaining bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).
- Lower the vehicle.

Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket retaining bolts.
- Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket.
- Using a pry bar, pry upwards and remove the stabilizer shaft insulator from the stabilizer shaft.
Installation Procedure
- Using a pry bar, pry upwards and install the stabilizer shaft insulator to the stabilizer shaft.
- Install the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket to the stabilizer shaft insulator.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the stabilizer shaft bracket retaining bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the stabilizer shaft bracket retaining bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Lower the vehicle.
