Service VME - Cigarette Lighter Elements Eliminated

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Some dealers have inquired about the elimination of cigarette lighter elements from the rear door receptacles on 2003 Cadillac DeVille, DHS, DTS models. At start of production of the 2003 Cadillac DeVille models, only one lighter element (for the front ash tray) was included and shipped with the vehicle. Dealers should not be submitting claims for additional lighter elements on 2003 Cadillac DeVilles for the rear door receptacles. This is Maurice Williams Brand Quality Manager for Cadillac Deville.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
