Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 588757  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolt (2) securing the rear transaxle brace (1) to the transaxle.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Remove the nuts (3) securing the rear transaxle brace (1) to the cylinder head.

  6. Object Number: 667148  Size: SH
  7. Remove the engine lift bracket retaining bolts.
  8. Remove the engine lift bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 667148  Size: SH
  1. Position the engine lift bracket to the cylinder head.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the engine lift bracket retaining bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine lift bracket retaining bolts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  5. Position the rear transaxle brace (1) to the cylinder head.
  6. Loosely install the nuts (3) securing the rear transaxle brace (1) to the cylinder head.
  7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  8. Install the bolt (2) securing the rear transaxle brace (1) to the transaxle.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the rear transaxle brace bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Tighten the nuts (3) securing the rear transaxle brace (1) to the cylinder head.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the rear transaxle brace nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
