Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Place the headlamp switch in the PARK position.
  3. Place the turn signal switch in the LEFT TURN position.
  4. Place the turn signal switch in the RIGHT TURN position.

Did the cornering lamps operate properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Do the park lamps operate properly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Park Lamps Inoperative

Are both cornering lamps inoperative?

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the turn signal switch.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With the headlamp switch in the PARK position, connect a test lamp between the instrument panel lamp fuse supply voltage 1 circuit of the turn signal switch and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 11

  1. Disconnect the inoperative cornering lamp.
  2. With the headlamp switch in the PARK position, place the turn signal switch in the appropriate position.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the cornering lamp and a good ground.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the cornering lamp and the ground circuit of the cornering lamp.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 10

Test for an open or high resistance in the supply voltage circuit of the appropriate cornering lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 16

Test for an open or short to ground in the instrument panel lamp fuse supply voltage 1 circuit of the turn signal switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the inoperative cornering lamp. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the turn signal switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair an open or high resistance in the ground circuit of the inoperative cornering lamp. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair a short to ground in the supply voltage circuit of the appropriate cornering lamp. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the inoperative cornering lamp. Refer to Cornering Lamp Bulb Replacement .

Replace the turn signal switch. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
