Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement FE1 and FE3

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  2. Object Number: 472982  Size: SH
  3. Remove the stabilizer shaft bracket bolt.
  4. Bend open the end of the stabilizer shaft bracket upward and remove the stabilizer shaft bracket.
  5. Using a pry bar, move the stabilizer shaft rearward and remove the stabilizer shaft stabilizer shaft insulator.

Installation Procedure

  1. Using a pry bar, move the stabilizer shaft rearward and Install the stabilizer shaft insulator.
  2. Install the stabilizer shaft insulator in the stabilizer shaft bracket with the slit facing forward.
  3. Bend the stabilizer shaft bracket downward to close around the stabilizer shaft insulator.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Ensure the stabilizer shaft is centered before installing the stabilizer shaft bracket bolts.

  5. Install the stabilizer shaft bracket bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the stabilizer shaft bracket bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

  7. Lower the vehicle.

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 568063  Size: SH
  3. Remove the stabilizer shaft bracket retaining bolt.
  4. Bend open the end of the stabilizer shaft bracket upward and remove the stabilizer shaft bracket.
  5. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105022  Size: SH
  1. Install the stabilizer shaft insulator to the stabilizer shaft with the slit facing forward.
  2. Bend the stabilizer shaft bracket downward to close around the insulator. Ensure the stabilizer bar insulators nest in the clamps, if not replace the clamps.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Ensure the stabilizer shaft is centered before installing the bracket bolts.

  4. Install the stabilizer shaft bracket bolt.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the stabilizer shaft bracket bolt to 51 N·m (38 lb ft).

  6. Lower the vehicle.
