Removal Procedure
- Open the hood.
- Remove the upper filler panel. Refer to Filler Panel Replacement - Upper .
- Remove the night vision camera assembly, if equipped. Refer to Night Vision Camera Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Remove the hood latch. Refer to Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement .
- Remove the front bumper impact bar. Refer to Front Bumper Impact Bar Replacement in Bumpers.
- Remove the lower bolts (2) and the upper bolts (2) retaining the hood latch support (1) to the vehicle.
- Remove the hood latch support (1) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the hood latch support (1) to the vehicle.
- Install the bolts (2) in order to retain the hood latch support (1) to the vehicle.
- Install the hood latch. Refer to Hood Latch Adjustment .
- Install the upper filler panel. Refer to Filler Panel Replacement - Upper
- Install the front bumper impact bar. Refer to Front Bumper Impact Bar Replacement in Bumpers.
- Install the night vision camera assembly, if equipped. Refer to Night Vision Camera Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Close the hood.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the retainer bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
