Important: Replace one hinge at a time. Do not open the rear door during the procedure as this may cause damage to the door, hinges, or check link.
Important: Be careful to secure the studplate when removing the hinge nuts from the door. The studplate is not attached to the door and could fall into the door cavity.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
• | Tighten the hinge to body bolts (2) to 30 N·m (22 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the hinge to door nuts (3) to 34 N·m (25 lb ft). |
