J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 106218  Size: SH
  1. Remove the front seats. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement in Seats.
  2. Remove the center console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  3. Remove the center seat if equipped. Refer to Front Center Seat Replacement in Seats.
  4. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  5. Remove the rear carpet retainer. Refer to Rear Carpet Retainer Replacement .
  6. Using a J 38778 remove the 4 retainers from the front and rear carpet overlap seam.
  7. Remove the rear carpet from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 106218  Size: SH

    Caution: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.

    Caution: All floor pan insulator material must meet Federal Vehicle Safety Standards for flammability. Failure to do so could result in personal injury and/or vehicle damage.

  1. Lay the rear carpet into the vehicle.
  2. Install the 4 retainers into the floor pan at the front and rear carpet overlap seam.
  3. Install the rear carpet retainer. Refer to Rear Carpet Retainer Replacement .
  4. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  5. Install the center seat if equipped. Refer to Front Center Seat Replacement in Seats.
  6. Install the center console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  7. Install the front seats. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement in Seats.
