Removal Procedure

  1. Open the rear compartment lid.
  2. Lower the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement in Body Rear End.

  3. Object Number: 455642  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the high mounted stoplamp connector from the wiring harness.
  5. Remove the fasteners retaining the high mounted stoplamp to the rear compartment lid.
  6. Remove the high mounted stoplamp and place it face down on a clean protective surface.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the high mount stoplamp to the rear compartment lid.

  2. Object Number: 455642  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fasteners in order to secure the high mounted stoplamp to the rear compartment lid.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the high mounted stoplamp fasteners to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  5. Connect the high mount stoplamp electrical connector.
  6. Install the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement in Body Rear End.
  7. Close the rear compartment lid.
