Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Verify that the Heated/Cooled Seat Switch Indicator Malfunction complaint is present.

Does the heated/cooled seat switch indicators operate as described in the Heated/Cooled Seat Description and Operation?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Is the indicator always on?

Go to Step 7

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the heated/cooled seat switch connector.
  3. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire from battery positive voltage to the battery voltage terminal of the heated/cooled seat switch.
  4. Probe the appropriate indicator terminal of the heated/cooled seat switch with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does indicator illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Test the appropriate indicator control circuit between the heated/cooled seat switch and the door module for a short to voltage, a high resistance, or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the seat back only mode indicator control circuit between the heated/cooled seat switch and the door module for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the appropriate indicator control circuit between the heated/cooled seat switch and the door module for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the door control module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the heated/cooled seat switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the door control module. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.
